On Saturday I went with my friend to Warsaw Tattoo Convention. There were so many amazingly dressed people, covered in tattoos and wearing amazing accessories. We don't see people like that on the streets very often. The reason is, as I think, that they do not feel accepted there. They can also be afraid of others reaction or even aggression. They dress up in usual way and hide their real personalities under the norms and socially accepted fashion. On events like this convention they've felt save enough to show themselves as they've wanted to because they've known that there were people like them. There's a power in group so they don't feel strange in this subculture. In conclusion, I think we should become society where others don't feel threatened. We're missing the opportunity to see the variety between us, which we can't notice when everyone is hidden under "normality".

  1. You've made me feel like there is something wrong with me - I don't have a tatoo, I dress pretty normally and don't have purple hair. I promise I am not hiding much under these veneer of normality.
