reflections #10
Not that long ago I saw dog's corpse on the road. It isn't something unusual that animals are killing on the streets by cars everyday but what took my attention was that they're left there where they died. I can see only see three explanations of this:
1. People just don't notice that they've just hit the animal ( what I can understand when it's small cat hit by the truck)
2. They simply don't care about others lives and I'm not really sure if it is safe to give them driving licence
3. They feel ashamed or afraid of consequences so they would rather let innocent creature die than call for help.
I find it horrible that so many lives are sacrificed because people don't want to "waste" their time and money by taking wounded animal to vet. Some people should at least have some morality and take this poor, fatally injured animal that they've hit out of the road. They should start to see animals as a living creatures and not as a obstacles on the streets.

Some drivers won't stop even if they've hit a person, e.g. a cyclist or a pedestrian (this crime has even got its own name - 'hit and run'), particularly if there are no witnesses to the accident. I imagine that for those people running over an animal is not a big deal.
